Our peopleWe are a small company so we all turn our hand to a fair amount, but, with loads of experience within the company and a team of talented partners behind us, small is perfectly formed. M4CAnn Durrant - Managing Director Before working at M4C Ann did trains, maths and drugs - in that order. A varied career has taken her from working as an engineer on the railway through to starting M4C - making stops as a maths lecturer and project manager at AstraZeneca on the way. Ann is a regular visitor to the Primary Health Care Institute (IPASC) in the north-eastern part of the Democratic Republic of Congo where she has run a participative video project and assisted with the admin and management of the business. Ann is an excellent project manager with a clear view of the big picture combined with attention to detail. Ann is responsible for the operational side of M4C and also goes out into the world talking about M4C and what we do. Using her lecturing experience Ann also delivers our 'educate' offerings. Ann runs races dressed as santa, knows all the nominal codes in Sage and tries to teach Alex, Alastair and Jess maths against their will. Despite the fact she is the boss, Ann gets told what to do by Alex, Alastair and Jess. Alex McKay - Project Designer Alex has experience working in both the public sector and a large multinational pharmaceutical company. Just before joining M4C she took a year out to travel the world, or at least a bit of it, including a stint looking after parrots in a Bolivian animal sanctuary. Alex works on a wide variety of projects tending towards copy led projects. She has had her hand in most of the reports we have produced - from copy writing to research. She also works with Yearsley on their CSER programme and designed IPF's big green sticky feet. Alex likes drinking real ales in comfortable pubs, cheese and listening to radio 4. After many years' effort Ann has finaly got Alex running, although Alex is yet to be convinced that it is a good idea. Jess Keeling - Sustainability Project Assistant
Jess studied History and French at Liverpool University and spent her third year in France teaching teenagers the English language. Jess loved studying (and Liverpool) so much she went back to University to do a Masters degree in International Relations and Security. Jess then went on to fight crime back home in Staffordshire working in the Criminal Records Bureau for Staffordshire Police before joining the team at M4C. Jess has recently discovered exercise but still loves socialising, cooking and more socialising. Her favourite things are her nephew Casper, Sweden (and all things Swedish) and Derby County FC. Alastair Pattrick - Sustainability Project Assistant
Alastair studied Geography at The University of Manchester before sticking around to complete a Masters in Environmental Governance, which included a dissertation on sustainable energy. Having enjoyed the University so much he worked in the Admissions Office, helping future students follow in his footsteps before joining M4C. Alastair has a passion for playing and watching football - specifically Macclesfield Town. He travels the length and breadth of the country to provide entertaining audio commentary from all their away matches. The 'entertaining' part can occasionally prove challenging. He also likes to indulge in a spot of baking.
