About us - a message from Ann Durrant, Managing Director of media4change

media4change was formed in September 2005. It was the brain child of Terry Gibson who had been applying his media and communications skills to social and environmental activities as part of his work for mediafour and was keen to do this full time. I joined Terry as a partner in the business in December of the same year.

I have always had a passion for human rights and after spending the summer in Democratic Republic of Congo in 2005 I wanted to make a positive difference. So, when I discovered Terry was setting up media4change, I was keen to get involved.

Our purpose in setting up media4change was to influence business in a positive way, in particular to engage a company's employees in their environmental and social activities.

Terry left media4change in October 2007 to pursue other interests related to his PhD studies. With Terry leaving we took the opportunity to redefine the focus of the company and became more strategy and business focused.

media4change's mission is to provide expert knowledge and support to organisations wishing to improve the lives of people, communities and the environment.

Over the years we have gained a great deal of experience and are now keen to share that experience with a wider audience. After working mostly with large corporations, we started working with smaller companies in early 2009, and have since developed a training package aimed at engaging that audience further.

As a company we are all extraordinarily committed to media4change's vision and that shows in all we deliver.
